Introduction

By Addison Copas
Hominids are our previous form. Basically the idea is that we evolved from apes. These were not regular apes, they were a mix of man and apes combined and they didn’t stand upright all the time. There are different species of hominids at different times. There are a few crossovers but not many.

About

Addison, who’s now seven eight nine, has been fascinated by prehistoric life at least since he was two, when he ran chanting rhythmically through the Peabody Museum in New Haven and had a docent offer him a job. After serving as his preschool’s resident paleontologist for a couple years, he branched out, taking an increasing interest in our human ancestors.

Having himself evolved to the point where he no longer views others’ lack of knowledge about hominids as a character flaw, we decided to pull together a place where we could track our deepening understanding of who we are and where we come from.
